We’re looking forward to seeing our visitors soon.
The Cayman Islands has been investigating various screening methods as it considers the reopening of its borders. All sectors of the government and tourism are planning, making adjustments to protocol and will be ready for your arrival. Putting our best foot forward as we always do to welcome our wonderful guests to the island soon.
With the use of testing, the fact that the virus could be weakening, and transmission not as easily spread as originally thought; opening tourism sooner than expected could possibly happen. Currently the Robert Owens International Airport is closed until August 31st to passenger travel. There has been much thought about waiting until early next year to open Cayman’s borders. But these possibilities bring much hope in welcoming visitors to our beautiful island sooner than end of year. Premier Alden McLaughlin acknowledges and has stated that other jurisdictions were opening up sooner and said Cayman would be “looking very closely at those experiments”.
Cayman Islands Department of Tourism along with the Cayman Island Government are given extensive research and planning to opening the island safely. Safety protocols will be put in place by Hotels, Rental Properties, Restaurants as well as Tour Operators and Excursions. The safety of our visitors is of top priority. Expect many more cleaning procedures to be implemented in all of these places.
